EOS (3D Skeletal System Imaging )

EOS is an x-ray low dose system that is used to diagnose spinal curvatures such as scoliosis and kyphosis and lower extremity angular disorders by imaging the entire spine and lower extremities at once.

EOS (3D Skeletal System Imaging )

Overview

EOS (3D Skeletal System Imaging) device uses X-Ray to view the entire body or a specific area from front, back and side view at the same time.

The ease of imaging provided by the EOS system speeds up the diagnosis and follow-up of many orthopedic diseases, especially scoliosis. This imaging process takes around 15-20 seconds to complete.

The true values of the spinal curvature cannot be calculated precisely using traditional X-ray imaging, particularly while the patient is lying down. The proper proportions can be calculated and the entire body can be presented at once with EOS.

The EOS system also aims to minimize the amount of radiation that pediatric patients are exposed to during repeated X-ray imaging so it is also defined as an ultra-low radiation method.

In comparison to traditional x-ray systems, 3D imaging of the entire spine from the head to the feet contains 90% less radiation.
